Position summary:
This full-time lab manager will provide research support to the Iordan and Piazza Laboratories in the Brain and Cognitive Sciences Department at the University of Rochester. This is a joint position shared by both labs, and the lab manager's main duties will be to coordinate various studies on naturalistic human cognition and communication (see specific breakdown of responsibilities below). The lab manager will have the opportunity to grow as a scientist by pursuing independent research on topics that fit within the scope of one or both labs, and by receiving ongoing professional development training provided by Drs. Piazza and Iordan.

Salary range:
$40,290-60,923 (based on experience level)
Approximate breakdown of responsibilities:
-Help recruit, schedule, and run participants for in-lab behavioral experiments on human visual/semantic/naturalistic cognition and audition/music/communication (15%)
-Help setup and run human fMRI scanning experiments (15%)
-Help write and update lab IRB protocols (15%)
-Manage shared lab computers and experimental psychophysics machines and perform data curation (15%)
-Help train new lab members in use of lab equipment, running experiments, coding/annotating data (15%)
-Manage Amazon Mechanical Turk/Prolific online experiment overhead (scheduling and data integrity, ~100-10,000 pp. per study) (10%)
-Design and/or maintain lab websites (including on platforms via GitHub/Squarespace) (5%)
-Keep track of lab equipment needs, help order essential supplies (5%)
-Maintain lab calendars, schedule lab meetings/events (5%)
Qualifications:
-BA/BS in Psychology, Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, Computer Science, or equivalent
-At least one year research experience OR undergraduate senior honors thesis
-Proficiency in Matlab or Python; familiarity with the other
-Strong organizational, multitasking, communication, and leadership skills
Any of the following would be a plus:
-2+ years research experience with human participants
-Experience with shell/scripting languages (e.g., bash, JavaScript)
-Experience with data management tools (e.g., Git)
-Experience with human psychophysics and/or fMRI
-Experience with web design
