Overview
We are excited to offer a $10,000 signing bonus for full-time, new hires to join our compassionate care team in the 31-bed specialized unit dedicated to residents with Alzheimer's and dementia. This role is pivotal in providing both direct and indirect care, creating a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment tailored to the unique needs of our residents.
Job Summary:
As a CNA in our specialized Alzheimer's/dementia unit, you will work closely with our residents and other care providers, employing both verbal and non-verbal communication techniques. Understanding and managing the complex behaviors associated with Alzheimer's and dementia, and recognizing these behaviors as forms of valid communication, are key aspects of this role. Our goal is to provide necessary care in a home-like environment for residents requiring long-term placement.
Job Requirements:
Education:
-Completion of a Maine State Board-approved CNA course.
-Active status on the State of Maine CNA registry.
Experience:
-1–3 years of previous CNA experience is preferred.
-New CNAs with relevant work experience will also be considered.
Other Skills Required:
-Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
-Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential.
-Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
-Willing to flex your schedule and to float to other units as needed.
