This would affect the Wilko employees massively, especially when it comes to their own finances. They would go from being in paid employment to claiming Universal Credit (unemployment benefits).

Being in Customer Service and Retail, the Wilko employees are generally on their feet for their shifts, so they would be physically healthier. Now, not so much.

Searching for employment can be demoralising for those who are actively seeking new employment opportunities. So, mentally, they would be affected.

Who else would this affect?

It's not just the Wilko employees who would be affected by this. Here's a list of others who would also be affected:

Customers - Customers would have to wait longer in queues with a higher chance of much fewer products on the shelves. Customers may decide to go elsewhere to purchase what they are looking for.
Families - Families may need to lend money to their respective family members who have were Wilko employees. This money would need to be paid back as soon as possible.
The Government - The Government would not receive taxes from the affected Wilko employees until they have found alternative employment elsewhere. Also, the Government would have to pay out money in Universal Credit payments.

I am one of the affected Wilko employees. What can I do to seek alternative employment elsewhere?

After Covid-19 has eased, I have noticed that there more vacancies available in both Customer Service and Retail have risen.

I found this out by completing Company Hunts in person, on foot. Most of these jobs can be applied for in person, accompanied with a CV or application form.

I feel that this is the best way to seek employment opportunities, as I found they get to see who the applicants are.
