Phil's Meat Market and Delicatessen has been delighting customers and employees since we were founded by Phil Mosley in 1979. For the past 40 years we have provided our customers with the finest meat, pork, poultry, and seafood plus Portland's original bento kabobs! In addition, we have a full artisanal deli with an assortment of daily made grab and go salads, made from scratch soups, enormous sandwiches, and freshly baked cookies and cakes.
Our NEW Bento Food Truck is on the road and we re booking new pop up dates every week! We need man power to ramp up production to keep our food truck stocked and on the road! POSITION – ** WE ARE LOOKING FOR 3 EMPLOYEES FOR THIS POSITION**
Bento Business Utility Position. Our Bento Department is our largest & most profitable item in our entire shop.
Basic introduction position responsibilities will also include: Meat Cutting, Bento Skewering, Marinade & Sauce Making, closing duties (with other Phil's family team members), dishwashing, helping customers, etc. At Phil s everyone does everything. It is also important to note that all employees are expected to maintain & contribute to any needed task to ensure the Shop is a success.
Our brick & mortar location is open Monday – Saturday, the position will be 5 days a week, full time.
Start date: Immediate and to work at the Waterfront Blues Festival Bento Bar Booth doing a variety of back end responsibilities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Proven Success (w/Examples) in Work Ethic, New Skill Learning, & Ability to Assimilate, plus contribute to the team s success.
Educate customers on methods of cooking meat and seafood products
Maintain our high level of standards
Work with and around various pieces of equipment
Communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members
Ability to lift 80 lbs. and stand for long periods of time
Must possess a current Oregon Food Handler's Card
COMPENSATION / PERFORMANCE REVIEW(S)
1. Salary: Starting pay $16 – $19/hour to start – depends on experience & qualifications.
2. Credit Card Tips which are not included in base wage have averaged an additional $1.80 – $2.97/hour
3. Additional Cash tips when operating our Bento Grill which have been averaging from $5-$10/hour
4. $90/week stipend to cover lunch meals and beverages.
5. 401k Matching up to 6% for eligible team members.
6. One week's paid vacation after one year of consistently good performance & attendance.
7. Performance Reviews: One at 90 days and a full review on each person s employment anniversary date.
