Securiguard is current seeking Security Professionals to join the University of Fraser Valley Security Team UFV requires the services of a Security team that can effectively and efficiently provide Campus Safety and Security Services.
Securiguard provides Campus Safety and Security Services which include protection of the university community, property, and holdings against criminal or any other activity unwarranted by the University.
The Security Contractor will possess and deliver Campus Safety and Security Services that foster the concepts of partnership, customer service, and quality.
Key Objectives: 1.
Provide pro-active actions to protect UFV employees and students from violence 2.
Provide pro-active actions to protect UFV assets from theft and vandalism 3.
Ensure and maintain UFV security and confidentiality Location: Chilliwack Campus Security Services include, but not be limited to the following requirements: Conduct Security Patrols interior and exterior patrols of UFV Campus buildings and property; Patrol and monitor parking areas and wooded spaces when deemed safe; Provide direction and information to students / staff / faculty / visitors Enforce UFV policies, procedures, and guidelines relating to a safe learning and working environment Log, record, and report all relevant or significant events during each shift using vendor supplied tools.
Conduct safe walks on request, either inside or outside UFV buildings on campus property Communicate to Police (as necessary) and Supervisor Campus Security Services on all matters where criminal activity may be involved or expected; Receive, record, and turn over any found items turned in, report any lost item information to the Supervisor Campus Security Services Respond to any immediate or urgent service requests originating by in
– person, telephone, or security call towers; assume emergency management responsibilities as assigned by the Office of Emergency Planning for drill, exercise, or actual suspicious package, bomb threat, hazmat, suspicious activity, evacuation, lock-down / shelter-in-place; Assist Facilities Personnel campus opening and securing (unlocking and locking of doors) Respond to problem situations involving students / staff / faculty / visitors / assemblies and provide a level of protection commensurate with the need and the training received; Conduct safe escorts of money and documents from prescribed locations on UFV property to specified locations on UFV property.
Provide information to assist the Supervisor Campus Security Services to maintain reports and statistics Perform other duties, as may from time to time be assigned by the Supervisor Campus Security Services Requirements: BC Security License OFA 2 certification (Occupational First Aid Level 2) is a must Crisis Intervention Certification would be considered an asset ICS Level 1 would be considered an asset WHMIS certification would be considered an asset Minimum of two (2) years experience in the security industry or equivalent experience would be considered an asset Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both orally and in clear, concise written reports; plus proficiency in other languages considered an asset Must be agile, free from restrictions that would limit the ability to walk quickly up and down stairs and throughout buildings and grounds over an 8hr shift Candidates with OFA2 will only be considered.
