Nokia's Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation, and technical expertise.
The NPI and Trials IP Engineer role is part of our IP/Optical Regional Business Center (RBC).
The role's primary responsibility is to assist in converting challenges into opportunities in the areas of IP routing protocols, signaling protocols network management, third generation mobile networking, broadband access, advanced network and professional services and next-generations operations support systems.
This is accomplished by the execution of Trials, Demos and PoC (Proof of Concept).
Join our team of deeply technical experts who have expertise in account management and pre-sales to secure new sales opportunities and to deliver complex technical projects.
What you will learn and contribute to
As part of our team, you will enhance your pre-existing knowledge in the following areas:
- Nokia IP Network equipment.
- Routing and Switching including OSPF, ISIS and BGP
- IP/MPLS Protocols including LDP, RSVP and Segment Routing
- IP/MPLS Services (VLL, VPLS, VPRN, IP Tunnels, EVPN)
- IP Security and IPSec
- Traffic analysis and DPI
- Broadband and WiFi aggregation (BNG/BRAS/WLAN-GW)
- Mobile Packet Core elements and functions, and 3GPP protocols
- Quality of Service (QoS)
- Multicast services and traffic delivery
- IPv6
- Experience using Test Equipment for IP and SONET/SDH/Legacy protocols
- SDN and Network Management System Platforms
Your skills and experience
You have:
- A Bachelors or Masters degree in an Engineering field or Computer Science or equivalent relevant work experience.
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in IP/MPLS.
- Customer-facing skills, including ability to drive customer calls and lead on-site customer visits and demos.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills to end-clients.
- Solid interpersonal skills with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Ability to accommodate domestic and international travel as required and on short notice.
It would be nice if you also had:
- Certifications such as SRC, CCNA/CCNP, and/or JNCIA/JNCIS.
- Nokia products experience (e.g.
7950XRS, 7750SR, 7705SAR, 7210SAS, 7250 IXR and NSP.
- Experience with a scripting language.
i.e.
API, XML, Python, and Velocity.
- Skillset in Linux administration (Red Hat / CentOS) and experience troubleshooting software applications in VM/Linux environment.
- Experience operating VM environments and servers.
i.e.
ESXi and KVM.
