HCA Solutions is currently seeking qualified Phlebotomists for the Federal Correctional Complex Coleman 846 NE 54th Terrace, Coleman, Florida 33521_. FCC Coleman has five different institutions: Camp, Low, Medium, USP 1, and USP 2. This will be a contract position, considered Full Time, Monday through Friday. Will not exceed 35 hrs/week. Typical working hours would be 8a - 330p with 1/2hr unpaid lunch.
The candidate will be responsible for the following:
Assist the Physician, Physician Assistant, and/or Nurse with patient flow in a clinic setting by measuring the patientÂ's vital signs and weight and scanning laboratory results in the Electronic Medical Record (BEMR).
Organize, schedule, and perform laboratory studies, specimen collection and process within the Health Service Unit, to include A&O in-processing, DNA per procedure, vaccine programs and PPD updates. This will include COVID screenings.
Prepare and ensure specimens are packed and transported according to the contract or Reference Lab and document per Health Services Unit Laboratory Procedures. Ensure that lab requests are completed properly, and all reports are returned from the contract lab, provider notified, log results in as received, follow up appropriately, and file/scan results in lab and medical record.
Acquire and maintain knowledge of the Health Services Manual and Unit Procedures necessary to accomplish the mission described herein, ensuring that the Laboratory Procedure Manual is updated accordingly.
Assist the Health Service Administrator (HSA) or his/her designee in the coordination of Contract Reference Lab contact, CLIA re-certification, maintenance of 4 equipment and notification of needed supplies.
Assist the HSA and Clinical Director with writing and implementing policies that deal with the laboratory program.
Complete and scan into EMR the Medical Treatment Refusal forms for any inmate that wishes to refuse laboratory testing ordered by clinical staff
Additional duties as assigned within the scope of Phlebotomist services of the licensed state
Requirements
Education and Experience
The candidate shall have valid certification/license to practice in the state of the facility as a Phlebotomist.
The candidate must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified, in accordance with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
The candidate must provide proof of experience with specimen collection, packaging and shipment to referral laboratories with knowledge of maintaining appropriate records on their resume.
Additional experience should be outlined regarding collection of testing as it relates to COVID-19.
The candidate shall complete mandatory training as required by the institution and health services department.
