Scope:
To facilitate the accurate and timely delivery of customer orders and to assist in receiving and stocking of warehouse inventory
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Operate vehicles with capacities under 3 tons in order to transport materials to and from specified destinations
Inspect and maintain vehicles daily per DOT regulations and complete daily vehicle inspection form
Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies such as emergency and first aid supplies, hand trucks, pallet jacks, drum dollies, straps, etc.
Load and unload trucks, vans and/or automobiles
Obey traffic laws, and follow established traffic and transportation procedures
Read maps, and follow written and verbal geographic directions
Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping documents
Maintain records such as vehicle logs, cargo records and/or billing statements in accordance with regulations
Present invoices and receipts, and collect payments for goods delivered or loaded
Turn in receipts and money from deliveries
Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles or warehouse equipment to supervisor
Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to office or other vehicles
Receive inventory via vendor fleet and/or LTL delivery. Properly and accurately fill in inventory receiver and return to warehouse/purchasing
Distribute and stock inventory in proper location, rotating stock appropriately
Assist in vehicle and warehouse daily, weekly and monthly cleaning responsibilities
Ability to perform light utility work to include installation of various dispensing systems
Any other duties as directed by supervisor
Knowledge / Skills / Experience Required
High school diploma or GED
Clean MVR, E-Verify and drug/alcohol screen
Excellent written and communication skills in personal contact with customers
Ability to operate various office equipment
Ability to safely operate automatic motorized vehicle
Strong organizational and planning skills
Patient and professional attitude toward conflict resolution while managing busy workload
Knowledge of local and out-of-town delivery locations
Physical / Mental Capabilities
Determine and prioritize workload with ability to work independently
Problem solving skills
Disclosure of any prior physical ailments
Lift up to 75 lbs. on a regular (daily) basis
