How would this benefit the Asda employees?
This would benefit the Asda employees massively, especially when it comes to finances. They would go from claiming Universal Credit (unemployment benefits) to being in paid employment.
With Asda Extra stores, these are customer service and retail premises, so the employees would be on their feet for the majority of their shifts. This means that they would be physically better off.
Also, mental health would generally improve because the employees are working, rather than being stuck at home looking for suitable employment.
Who else would this benefit?
It's not just the Asda employees who would benefit from this. Here's a list of others who would also benefit:
- Customers - Customers would now have more of a variety of Asda Express stores to visit when they do their shopping. They will also have more of a variety of products to purchase.

- The Government - The Government would potentially receive taxes from the Asda employees, if the employees earn enough money. The Government would also save money on paying out money in Universal Credit payments.
