This is a re-post of Organisational Skills: Hobbies (Postage Stamps), which was published on Friday 20 December 2019 at 12:00.
I decided to go from collecting Great Britain Queen Elizabeth II Christmas postage stamps to collecting all Great Britain Queen Elizabeth II postage stamps.
I needed to organise my postage stamps in to SG number by the most recent Stanley Gibbons (SG) catalogue and put them into new stockbooks.
I made sure that I had everything I needed in front of me, like my postage stamps, stockbooks and the most recent Stanley Gibbons catalogue. I started from 1952 when Princess Elizabeth became Queen Elizabeth II and handwrote the SG numbers into the stockbooks in a reasonable layout. After I completed that, I placed the postage stamps into the correct places, then I double checked the postage stamps in the stockbooks. I then double checked the remaining postage stamps to see if any more could be placed into the stockbooks. From there, I organised my unwanted postage stamps, ready for exchange or for sale.
The postage stamps were in the correct places in the stockbooks, rather than loose or in packets, or in draws.
