Smartsheet is looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer with a solid technical background combined with excellent customer service skills. A successful candidate will design, plan, and implement various SaaS and on-prem technologies delivering reliable, scalable systems and achieving operational excellence. The Senior Systems Engineer will participate in a rotating on-call and escalation schedule for our corporate infrastructure.

You will report to the Director of IT Infrastructure who is based in Florida. This role is fully remote eligible!
You Will:
- Design, develop, implement, test, and manage Windows and Linux Server environments and various IaaS and SaaS platforms.
- Provide escalated systems support and mentoring across the Corporate IT team.
- Evaluate and monitor usage to ensure capacity is meeting growth requirements.
- Partner with the compliance/security team to prevent, detect, and investigate suspicious activity.
- Partner with various IT and business teams to understand business requirements for administration, configuration, and support for maintenance or enhancement of existing systems.
- Ensure solutions meet all compliance, legal, internal controls, Service Level Agreements(SLAs), auditing/accounting standards, and security best practices.
- Work with appropriate internal teams to automate management tasks, streamline processes and perform standard administration functions as needed.
You Have:
- 6+ years of work experience in a production Windows and Linux environment working as a systems engineer
- 8+ years experience overall with IT systems administration
- Experience designing, implementing, and supporting AWS and Azure IaaS and PaaS services
- Deep knowledge of OKTA or other SSO products
- Experience with SOX or other compliance (HIPAA or PCI)
- Proficiency with Powershell or other scripting languages
- Familiarity with internet protocols, network firewalls, routing, switching, and VPN
- Ability to present ideas and solutions to challenging issues, then lead and implement those ideas.
- Foundational knowledge of ITIL concepts and frameworks required.
- Must possess the ability to work an occasional evening, holiday, or weekend
