Job Title Civil Engineer Location Category Infrastructure Job Type Job Description You will assist our team in the planning, design, construction, and project management of a wide variety of civil and environmental projects.
This may include assignments such as small and large scale municipal infrastructure, civil site development, and municipal rehabilitation.
This opportunity also has crossover potential into our water resources and/or transportation practice areas.
The core requirements for this opportunity are strong technical capabilities covering all aspects of civil analysis and design of infrastructure.
Specifically, this will include water distribution, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer systems; roads, sidewalks, and parking lots; culverts and site drainage; and pumping stations.
You will take a lead in preparing studies, designs, opinions of cost, construction specifications, and contract documents.
Also, this opportunity will include participation in scheduling, budgeting, tendering, and contract administration for infrastructure projects.
Broader roles may include water resources and hydrotechnical engineering, highway transportation, linear infrastructure, mining, airports, environmental services, and urban planning.
This opportunity requires involvement in business development planning and preparation of proposals.
You will have significant interaction with clients, contractors, and sub-consultants; and can network across Groups and Operations of Associated Engineering.

Travel will be required at times based on project requirements.
Duties include the following:
• Acting as Project Engineer and/or Project Manager on assignments.
• Providing support to technicians, designers, and other engineers to ensure that deliverables are accurately prepared and checked.
• Preparing written technical reports including but not limited to studies, concept designs, detailed designs, and design criteria reports.
• Preparing design drawings and contract documents.
• Performing contract administration and field reviews.
• Performing project management tasks including communication with clients, managing schedules and budgets, and preparing progress reports.
• Participating in marketing strategies and business development with clients.
• Assisting with writing proposals to procure new projects.
• Effectively and clearly communicating with clients and internal project teams, both verbally and in technical writing.
• Coordinating sub-consultants activity on projects.
• Executing projects in accordance with company guidelines and standards.
Job Requirements What you bring to the table:
• Undergraduate degree in Engineering / Applied Science from an accredited post-secondary institution.
• Eligible for professional registration with EGBC as a P.Eng.
• 5 years of engineering experience.
• Experience in completion of technical reports, designs, specifications, opinion of costs, tendering, and construction.
• Proficient technical skills.
• Proven communication and organization skills.
• Committed team player.
• Track record in managing clients and developing client relationships.
• Proven people skills for both internal and external clients.
• Motivated to grow career.
• Ability to liaise effectively and clearly with clients, both written and verbal.
• Comfortable working on a variety of project types, in a variety of disciplines and sectors across BC and Canada.
