– Intermediate Title: Application Support Analyst
– Intermediate Duration: 6 months Location: Toronto FICC Technology is looking for a junior/intermediate application support analyst who will join the Global Markets Technology team.
The candidate will assist in supporting applications across the Fixed Income Technology Portfolio.
• Assisting in day-to-day support of Fixed Income Trading applications
• Documenting detailed procedures for support inquiries
• Monitoring and supporting start of day and end of day procedure
• Assisting in the documentation of release management including SIT (system integration testing), regression and post deployment testing
• Validating testing approaches and assisting UAT (user acceptance testing) with system specialists to define and maintain reporting structures within Collateral Management Module to support internal reporting
• Familiarity with UNIX/LINUX, Autosys, Active batch or other schedulers; proficiency with SQL
• Assisting with the automation of daily reports using programming, proficiency with Excel or working with the development team
• Working with various Global Markets groups in Front, Middle and Back office as well as numerous technology team
• Identifying inconsistencies and gaps within a business process description and collaborates with stakeholders to clarify and simplify complex processes
• Adhering to and ensures that others adhere to the organizations Requirements Management Process to support the organizational standards and ensure consistency of deliverables
• Providing clarification of requirements to other project team members to assist them in the creation of their specific project deliverables (e.g., assists the testing team in the creation of the Testing Strategy and Testing Execution Plan)
• Facilitating requirements gathering sessions including leading discussions, managing group dynamics and maintaining group focus to work towards accomplishing the stated goal(s) of the session within the context of the project objectives
• Recommending or automating approaches to streamline and integrating technological processes and/or systems to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness
• Supporting production issues, including Independently completes root-cause analysis and diagnosis
• Providing a high level of service to downstream and adhering to strict SLAs for response and restoration times Technical Skills: Knowledge of Standard of Procedure (SOP), documentation Must be highly organized with strong attention to detail Experience in: 1) Test Strategy/Plan documentation 2) Test Cases – writing and executing 3) Variance management and tracking Assist in address questions/issues from stakeholders as it pertains to existing production reporting Provide a high level of service to downstreams and adhere to strict SLAs for response and restoration times Ability to effectively communicate with system users and stakeholders both verbally and in written form Business Product or Process Knowledge
•Good understanding of margining and collateral management and requirements
• Good to know business processes supporting trading – Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office, Risk Not necessary, but asset to have experience in any systems that BMO uses, e.g.
