Chaudhary Bansilal University was established in 2014 by the Government of Haryana under Act 25 of 2014. However, the university is a state university and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (India). Hence, the university is named after Bansi Lal who was the former Chief Minister of Haryana. Thus, the University has been established as a teaching-cum-affiliating university to facilitate and excel in multi-disciplinary higher education with special emphasis on sports and physical education, and regions can be combined.
