What you'll be doing As the new IT Manager Retail Stores Systems, you will be reporting to the Senior Manager Customer Technologies and will be leading a team of internal and external professionals in the delivery of technologies for about 300 retail locations, fleet locations and restaurants between Canada and USA. These technologies include, but are not limited to, POS systems, loyalty programs, customer mobile apps, and payment methods. Practically speaking you will: * Be responsible to maintain a strong understanding of emerging technologies and trends to effectively provide direction and recommendations to evolve and optimize the client's technology assets.* Partner with stakeholders and peers to prioritize initiatives and communicate progress, risk, roadblocks, dependencies, etc.* Collaborate with stakeholders and peers to align on roadmaps, delivery ownership and operational excellencies. Develop strategic relationships with stakeholders and customers by understanding their needs and aligning the capabilities of the team accordingly.* Lead the Store Systems team through resource planning, up-skilling and career development. Coach, support, and delegate to empower the team. Get "hands on" when appropriate to serve as model for expected performance and to remove obstacles impeding the team.* Provide technical direction and ensure the right skills are being used to solve the right problems across your team.* Seek new opportunities, methods, trends, capabilities, and products for the advancement of the Store Systems.* Develop store systems hardware/software strategy utilizing industry standards. Create and execute technology roadmap based on stakeholder requirements and strategy. Define and implement life cycle management best practices and approach for all store systems software and hardware assets.* Participate in all phases of projects including development, design, testing and production planning, reviewing and approving deliverables.* Participate in the Change Advisory Board. Coordinate and enable the successful transition of projects from implementation to operations. Ensure operational requirements and practices are in place before promotion to production.* Ensure vendors with whom we partner to provide software, hardware or services to our retail and fleet locations are held to a high standard. Grow and manage these relationships to ensure our retail and fleet locations are always properly supported.* Provide input for departmental budget and forecasting, and manage expenses associated with initiatives within scope of responsibility. Qualifications * Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Administration, or equivalent* 10 + years' work experience in the Information Technology field* Minimum 2-3 years of experience working with Consumer, Retail, Point of Sale technologies or equivalent* Strong leadership, communications, facilitation, collaboration and relationship management skills.* Experience working with 3rd party providers, vendors and in cross functional / matrixed team environments.* Experience utilizing corporate and 3rd party project management processes and software.* Strong understanding of project management methodologies including Waterfall and Agile.* Knowledge of Payment Card Industry Data Security (PCI DSS)* Strong analytical skills.* Strong verbal and written communication skills.* Highly proficient in articulating technology strategy and benefits to a non-technical audience of stakeholders.* Experience dealing with multiple priorities and deadlines / proven ability to meet hard deadlines.
