Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi is a private not-for-profit teaching hospital that provides tertiary and secondary level healthcare services. It is the first hospital in East Africa to be accredited by the Joint Commission International from the USA. The University Hospital has been providing high quality care for the people of East Africa and beyond for over 60 years.
Applications are invited from qualified candidates for the above position based in Nairobi Kenya. The position holder will report to the Director, PSCMD in the PSCM Division, Aga Khan University Hospital.
Job Purpose:
Responsible to manage and optimize OPEX procurement, Supply Chain Operations and inventory control system of Procurement and Supply Chain Management Dept.
Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Lead the Team in ensuring smooth supply chain operations as well as ensuring users' supplies requirements are met.
Ensure accurate transactions RFP for all OPEX items.
Key player in processing of grants related procurement while contributing and monitoring Regional Procurement program, Network Purchase Program and AKDN related procurement activities.
Quality Assurance and continuous improvement:
Work collaboratively with users and supply chain leadership to develop and maintain processes designed to ensure quality service delivery
Lead the Team in development and implementation of quality improvement programs in the supply chain function.
Customer Focus:
Coordinate PSCMD functions with other departments by preparing reports on Key Performance Indicators;
Be the primary liaison with Finance department during internal and external audits.
Internal business processes:
Responsible for the maintenance of the inventory control systems to ensure a well maintained inventory control system with completed inventory transactions in the system;
Oversee supplier and warehouse creation;
Control random stock adjustments due to price corrections and discrepancies in patient charging
Qualifications and skills required:
Bachelor/ Master of Science in Organizational Development/ Supply Chain Management or equivalent
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar or related role
Experience in supply chain or logistics and operations in a healthcare or equivalent industry set up.
Good in data analytics
Experience in the implementation and support of Information systems will be an added advantage
Good leadership and excellent interpersonal/ communication skills
Excellent organization skills
Attention to detail and problem solving skills
Capacity to manage several tasks and requests simultaneously
